Office of the City Finance Officer
The Finance Officer acts as Treasurer and administers the
City’s budgetary and financial activities including preparing the annual
operating budget, State Fiscal Financial Report, Road Use Tax Report and other
Federal and State Reports as required.
The Finance Officer administers financial controls to regulate
expenditures in accordance with appropriations and available funds and
supervises the collection of all monies and fees due to the City. The Finance Officer prepares monthly and
annual revenue, expenditure, income statement, balance sheet and budget
comparison reports and coordinates the annual audit. The Finance Officer monitors the City’s
investment management program to maximize the amount of cash available for
investments and earnings from such investments.
The Finance officer works with the bond registrar to pay off bonds and
interest and maintains separate records on all Federal and State grants and
projects.
Other duties of the Finance Officer include liquor and cigarette licensing, enrollment and maintenance of the City’s property and casualty and workers’ compensation insurance, Human Resources and payroll, billing for city services, preparing and sending public service announcements and working with other City departments on issues concerning budgets, billing, expenditures and revenues, purchase orders, budget history, grant application materials and other financial related needs. |
