Open Burning

Pursuant to Chapter 105.05 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Perry, Iowa that the Fall 2015 yard waste burning procedures shall be performed as follows:
1.            Backyard burning of yard waste materials is permitted from 10:00 a.m. to sundown from October 31, 2015 to November 22, 2015.
2.            All burning is restricted to private property, in the rear yard of the property, at least thirty (30) feet from any building inhabited by other than the landowner or tenant conducting the open burning and the fires must be supervised at all times.
3.            All non-burning yard waste disposal will be performed as set forth in Resolution No. 031615C dated March 16th 2015.
4.            The City of Perry encourages residents to find alternative methods to open burning for yard waste disposal.

Further Resolved, that yard waste burning will be prohibited in the spring of 2016.

Yard Waste Collection

All yard waste except tree, bush or brush materials are to be placed in biodegradable paper yard waste bags with a maximum weight of forty pounds (40 lb.) and set near the street curb in front of the residence during the yard waste disposal dates for collection and disposal by the city.  NO GARBAGE CONTAINERS, PLASTIC BAGS OR CARDBOARD BOXES WILL BE ALLOWED.
 
All tree, bush and brush materials are to be bundled and tied in maximum lengths of four feet (4') with a maximum weight of forty pounds (40 lb.) and set near the street curb in front of the residence during the yard waste disposal dates for collection and disposal by the city.
 
To assure prompt pick-up, please place your yard waste at the curb by 7:00 a.m.
