Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons (All Ages)- The McCreary Community Building is gearing up for its upcoming Red Cross Swim lessons.  The swim lessons objective is to teach children to swim and be safe in, on and around the water. All of the classes are 40 minutes long. Session III begins on February 7 and runs until March 21 on Saturdays.  Level 1, 3, and preschool ages has lessons at 3:45pm until 4:25 p.m. and Level 2 and 4 are from 4:25pm to 5:15 p.m.  The fees for this program are $28 for members and $38 for non-members. The registration deadline for Session 1 is December 30, Session 2 January 30, Session 3 is March 24.
Winter Swim Team- The McCreary Center will have another season of Winter Swim Team for ages 6-18. This is a competitive program for individuals who are able to swim the length of the pool while using proper technique. There will be three practices a week with the meets being held on Saturdays. Swimmers are in charge of providing their own transportation to and from meets. The Winter Swim Team will begin in November and run till middle March. First practice will be held on Sunday November 16.  Please contact the McCreary Community Building at (515) 465-5621 for any questions.
Water Fitness- This is an exciting class that allows you to exercise in water while listening to music. This class will focus on improvement of flexibility, strength, and coordination without stress to your bones. There are no needed swimming skills are needed since all of the activities will take place in chest deep water. There are three classes available Early Morning, Mid-Morning, and Evening class. Classes are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  For times and registration information call the McCreary Center at (515) 465-5621.
Family Swim Time- Looking for activities to do as a family? Then look no further! The McCreary Community Building is offering activities designed for parents and their children. The shallow end of the pool area is open to both parents and children. Children must be accompanied by a parent at all times in the shallow end during swim time. Swim time is offered on Monday-Friday from 11am -1pm and 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The fee is free for members and daily fee for non-members.
Float Day- Sunday is float day! Every Sunday is float day at the McCreary Community Building. You may bring your own floats or have the opportunity to use the recreation centers. Participants will be able to spend a day floating around the pool! This program will take place every Sunday and will be held from 1pm to 5:30pm. There is a fee; it is free for members and daily admission for non-members.
