Seasonal Summer Labor

The City of Perry Cemetery, Public Works and Parks Departments accept applications for Seasonal Summer Labor. 

Position Description:
Seasonal Summer Labor maintain Violet Hill Cemetery, city parks and assigned grounds, city streets and other public space in neat and orderly fashion by using assigned equipment and tools as required. Applicants must be able communicate with co-workers and supervisor to accomplish daily assignments. Must be able to read and write labels, safety instructions on chemicals and tools, and reservation lists for park use.

Physical Requirements and work environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently subject to outdoor weather conditions and will be required to lift 10 pounds, sit, use hands to finger coordination, handle, or feel tools and controls such as when working with various tools;
reach with the hands and arms, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear, while working on parks maintenance and development. This position may occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds and may encounter chemicals, vibration, loud
equipment noise, humid conditions, working near moving machines, and airborne particles while working on equipment. The specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to focus while working with equipment and tools in various environments. 

Attendance and punctuality:
Regular and predictable attendance and give proper notification/communication in the event of absence or tardiness is an essential function of this position. Work schedule will be determined by supervisor to meet the needs of the departments. 

Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, have a good driving record, 
 
Pay: $11.00-$13.00/Hour      
Hours: 40 Hours/Week, up to 20 weeks

McCreary Community Building Pool Staff

Pool Manager 
​
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Aquatic Facility. Supervise pool personnel in all day-to-day functions and assigned tasks, patrons, operation and programs at the aquatic facility. All necessary training will be provided on site. 

Must be able to pass a background check. Photo ID required at time of application.

Pay: $14.00-$16.00/Hour      
Hours: up to 30 per week

Lifeguard

Lifeguards independently preform surveillance duties of patrons in the swimming pool area including the outdoor splash pad. Perform first aid as needed, enforce all rules and regulations and maintain cleanliness of the pool area. 

Must be able to pass a background check. Photo ID required at time of application.

Pay: $9.00-$14.00/Hour, Dependent on Qualifications    
Hours: up to 30 per week

McCreary Community Building Staff 

Receptionist - McCreary Community Building

Duties include greeting and assisting guests, answering phones, checking people in to the facility, filling vending, other duties as assigned. Must be at least 16

Pay: $9.00-$11.00/Hour      
Hours: up to 20 per week, Evening and weekends.
