The City of Perry, a vibrant, growing community in central Iowa, is seeking an individual to serve as the Aquatics Coordinator.
The City of Perry Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to plan, organize and implement successful aquatic and fitness programs for the McCreary Community Building. The ideal candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills. This position plans, markets, promotes, develops, implements and supervises the department's high quality aquatic and wellness programs for all ages. Other duties within the Parks and Recreation Department may be assigned. Hours will vary, and will include evening and weekend hours.
A Four-year degree in Parks and Recreation or related field is preferred. Basic knowledge of pools, water chemistry, and fitness is preferred. Required licensing within the first 6 months of hire are Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Life Guard Certification, and Life Guard Instructor (LGI). Additional desired certifications include Water Safety Instructor and Water Safety Instructor Trainer.
Non-exempt position (hourly).
Pay Range: $17.83- $20.50/Hour, DOQ
