Violet Hill Cemetery- Decorations
From April 1, 2015 to November 15th, 2015, all decorations at the Violet Hill Cemetery must be contained in a vase, on the stone or on an ornamental lawn hook. Exceptions to this rule include: Memorial Day – Decorations allowed ten days before and seven days after. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day – Decorations allowed five days before and five days after. Spring Yard Waste Burning
The Spring season of open burning of yard waste materials will begin at 10 a.m. on April 1, 2015 and end at sundown on May 31, 2015. All burning must take place from 10 a.m. until sundown, is restricted to private property, in the rear of the property and must be supervised at all times. All burning must be at least thirty (30) feet from any building inhabited by persons other than the landowner or tenant conducting the open burning. The City of Perry encourages residents to find alternative methods to open burning for yard waste disposal. If you have any questions, please call City Hall at 515-465-2481.
Spring Clean Up
Spring Clean-Up items will be collected during the week of April 20, 2015 to April 22, 2015, weather permitting, in accordance with the following: Monday, April 20 - East of 1st Street and South of Willis Avenue Tuesday, April 21 - East of 1st Street and North of Willis Avenue Wednesday, April 22 - All areas West of 1st Street
Pet owners within Perry city limits with cats and dogs over six months of age must obtain or renew their pet license by January 31st of each year. Licenses expire on December 31st of each year. Licenses may be obtained at the McCreary Community Building, 1800 Pattee Street. The fee is $5 for altered animals and $20 for non-altered animals. A late fee of $5 will be charged after February 1st. Owners must show proof of rabies vaccination. Dog Park Permits: Yearly passes for the Perry Dog Park are available at the McCreary Community Building, 1800 Pattee Street. The fee is $20 for the first dog and $10 for each additional dog, with a limit of three dogs. Perry residents must have a current pet license in order to purchase a dog park permit.
