Street Maintenance Worker


The City of Perry, Iowa (population 7,836) is accepting applications for a Street Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department.  This is a full-time position with a starting date of on or around July 1, 2022.  This position is subject to representation by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Local 3461.  Duties include the maintenance and repair of city infrastructure, such as city roads, alleys, sidewalks, public buildings and the sewer collection system.  This position will remove snow and accumulations from roads and sidewalks.  This position will operate pickup trucks, dump trucks, snow plows, endloaders and related equipment.  Must have a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) and have a valid Iowa Class B CDL License or be able to obtain one within 60 days of hire.  The pay rate for this position is $24.70 per hour with excellent benefits.
