The City of Perry Public Works Department is headed by the Public Works Director, Jack Butler and Deputy Public Works Director Josh Wuebker, who oversee operations of the following:
Street - Street maintenance, snow removal and upkeep of storm sewer collection system.
Sewer - Sanitary sewer maintenance.
Garbage Collection - Including residential and commercial garbage collection, curbside yard waste collection, annual tire collection, annual hazardous waste collection and the annual Spring Cleanup.
Recycle Collection - Including residential and commercial recycle collection and the operations of the City of Perry Recycling Center.

Garbage Collection Information
Beginning March 3, 2008, all residents of Perry will be required to place all garbage and refuse in bags for collection. Garbage in cans will not be picked up. All bags must be placed at the front street curb of the residence for collection. There will be no more alley collections. The collection day for the residence will not change. Residents will be allowed four (4) bags of garbage per week. Bags may be between 8 gallon to 35 gallon size and weigh no more than forty (40) pounds each. If additional bags are placed out for collection, an "extra bag" tag must be placed on each additional bag. Tags are $2.50 each and are available at City Hall, the Water Works Office and the McCreary Community Building.

Yard Waste Collection
All yard waste except tree, bush or brush materials are to be placed in paper yard wasste bags (NO PLASTIC BAGS, GARBAGE CONTAINERS OR CARDBOARD BOXES) with a maximum weight of forty pounds (40 lb.) and set near the street curb in front of the residence during the yard waste disposal dates for collection and disposal by the city.

All tree, bush and brush materials are to be bundled and tied in maximum lengths of four feet (4') with a maximum weight of forty pounds (40 lb.) and set near the street curb in front of the residence during the yard waste disposal dates for collection and disposal by the city. To assure prompt pick-up, please place your yard waste at the curb by 7:00 a.m.

Street Project Updates
The City of Perry will begin a sanitary and storm sewer project in the North 2nd Street area in 2008. The City of Perry will also begin a repair project of three blocks of alleys in the downtown area. This includes the alley between 2nd and 3rd Streets beginning behind Raccoon Valley Bank north to Bateman Street.

The City has completed Phase 1 and 2 of the Downtown Revitalization Plan.

SNOW REMOVAL:
No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley or city-owned off-stree parking area during a snow emergency unless the snow has been removed or plowed from such street, alley, or parking area, and the snow has ceased to fall.  A snow emergency shall be defined as any accumulation of snow in the amount of one-half inch, or any amount in excess thereof.  A snow emergency-parking ban shall continue from its inception through the duration of the snow or ice storm and the forty-eight (48) hour time period after cessation of the storm except as above provided upon streets, which have been fully opened.

Citizen Work Orders
Please download and complete this form to report any problem with City streets, sidewalks, alleys, signs, buildings, etc. This form should be returned to City Hall, either in person or by mail, fax or via email. The work order will then be forwarded to the appropriate department.

Street Cut/Curb Cut Permits
Please contact City of Perry Public Works Director Jack Butler to schedule a street cut or a curb cut. The cost for a street cut is $19.50 per square foot. The cost for a curb cut is $15.00 per foot, with a minimum charge of $150.00.

Street Lights
