| Perry Industries, Inc.
is a local civic organization that encourages
and promotes economic growth and development
in the Perry community with the goal of making
Perry a good place to live and work. Throughout
the year, our Board of Directors holds bi-monthly
meetings.
A number of our directors and members have
served as representatives on various special
community and civic committees, groups and
projects including the following: Perry
Leadership Conference, Dallas County Development,
Perry Community Schools, Concordia Group
Project, Dallas County Housing Task Force
and Perry Downtown Renovation project, to
name a few.
Our Board and our members have worked hard
and long to support existing Perry industries
and to encourage good economic growth and
development in the Perry community. This
includes bringing good paying jobs and industry
to Perry and keeping those jobs that already
existed.
Some of the major projects and activities
that Perry Industries, Inc. has been involved
in the recent past include the following:
ongoing work and cooperation with Hometown
Perry, Inc.; working with Perry Economic
Development on the creation and ongoing
development of the Perry Business and Industrial
Parks located at the intersection of Highway
141 and Willis Ave., which is the eastern
gateway to our city; ongoing work and cooperation
with the Perry Chamber of Commerce and with
Dallas County Development; ongoing contacts
by our Board, particularly our Marketing
and New Contact Committees with future prospects
who show any interest in locating industry/business
in Perry; ongoing participation in the Perry
Downtown Renovation Project currently under
strong consideration in construction of
a new building in the industrial park; working
with various city officials and attending
Perry City Council meetings regarding Perry
economic development matters; the work of
Board member Jim Huyck on the annual Sentimental
Journey celebration; and review and study
of the Perry TIF Program for economic development
and public improvements.
Your Board continues to work with local
community and civic groups and with the
Greater Dallas County Development Alliance
and state economic development officials
to encourage and stimulate economic growth
and activity in the Perry area.
