The Perry Fire Department is a volunteer organization with a chief, 6 officers, and approximately 30 firefighters.

The Perry Fire department began its service to the citizens of Perry in 1878. With a current roster of 35 men and women, that dedication to service is alive and well. The Perry Fire Department specializes in fire suppression and prevention as well as a hazardous materials operations team, underwater search and rescue team, confined space rescue team, EMS squad and automobile extrication specialists. This Fire Department is equipped with a 75’ ladder quint, three pumper trucks, a heavy rescue unit, first responder unit, underwater truck and boat.
