The McCreary Community Building opened in September 1983. Funds for construction were provided by the late Rex and Irma McCreary, area businesses, individuals and by a general obligation bond. The McCreary Community Building is a not-for-profit public facility owned and operated by the City of Perry through the Recreation Department. Our goal is to provide quality facilities, programs, and services to all area residents.
The McCreary Community Building is a 50,000-sq. ft. multi-use recreation facility, air conditioned and fully accessible.
Specific areas and equipment include: indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, dry air sauna, sundeck, locker rooms, racquetball court, weight room, aerobics room, gym, senior adult room, and commercial kitchen.
To use the McCreary Community Building, you must have a membership or pay a daily fee. A membership at the McCreary Community Building entitles you to unlimited use of the facility and significant savings on all activities.
The building schedule provides a convenient blend of drop-in times, organized activities, and special rentals.
