Friday Fest - A Perry Cultural District Event
In 2010 Perry supporters will celebrate the newly reinvigorated Perry Cultural District with a series of public summer concerts scheduled for: Friday June 25th, July 23rd , Friday Aug 20th in Pattee Park beginning at 6:30PM
Friday Fest this year has moved to Pattee Park and are intended to be FREE community wide BYOB – Bring Your Own Basket events – attendees are encouraged to pack a basket or cooler for a picnic in the park during the concerts –local Perry Only food and beverage vendors will also be available. Limited kids activities will be added as budget allows.
June 25th - David Zollo & Body Electric
David Zollo of Iowa City is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, manager and record producer for his band David Zollo and the Body Electric. He's also the founder and owner of his own music label, Trailer Records, which features 12 Iowa artists, including Iowa's own Greg Brown. Zollo's fusion of blues, jazz and rock music has been an Iowa and Midwest staple for nearly 10 years.
July 23rd - Jason Brown(Pending confirmation)
Stacy Harris, Nashville’s top music critic with Picks & Pans called Jason Brown “ one of country music's most promising up and comer's”. Working on his third album, Jason is spending time in the studio writing and working on new material for his next single, to be released late spring/early summer.
Aug 20th - Crooked Mile
Crooked Mile - from Des Moines, Iowa performs Americana music and offbeat covers. "We're trying to create a vibe where you can listen to the music and also chat with friends. A lot of the songs have an acoustic ambiance." The band members try to select songs the audience might know, but that haven't been overplayed on the radio. Selections from their set list include "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young, "Tumbling Dice" by The Rolling Stones, and "What's So Funny About Peace, Love and Understanding" by Elvis Costello.
