Education

The Perry School District serves an area of 155 square miles with a student population of over 1800 students.  The District is proud of its comprehensive K-12 educational program with a PK-5 elementary school, a 6-8 middle school and a 9-12 high school and alternative school.

The elementary school is located in a spacious new facility and provides a rich array of programs and activities to meet the needs of students.  The school has technology available in each classroom in addition to two technology labs.  Maintaining a low student to teacher ratio is a priority at Perry Elementary.  In addition, a before and after school program is provided at Perry Elementary.

The curriculum, instruction and environment at Perry Middle School are designed to meet the needs of our adolescents.  A middle level philosophy, which supports teaming and flexible scheduling, has been adopted.  The Boys Town Educational Model for social skills has recently been implemented.  When not in core classes, students explore foreign language, industrial technology, art, music, family and consumer science, careers, health, physical education and technology.  The Middle School is housed in an excellent facility, which is approximately 40 years old.

The District has recently completed the construction of a new high school, which will provide an outstanding facility for students, families and the community.  The high school offers a wide range of courses designed to encourage students to think creatively, critically and independently.  The fine arts, vocational and athletic programs have achieved great success over the years and have strong community.

The Perry Community School District is staffed by an expert group of individuals who take pride in student success.  Everyone in the Perry community works together to ensure a quality educational program for our young people.

St. Patrick's Catholic School offers education for students from preschool to eighth grade. St. Patrick's provides a diverse education alternative. In cooperation with the community school district, St. Patrick's offers much the same curriculum and involves students in joint classroom experiences with the public school.
